A Christmas wish comes true at Redcar care home

Joyce Wright a Residents at HC-One’s St Peter’s Court care home in Redcar was overjoyed when the team made her festive wish come true on Christmas day.

When asked what she would like for Christmas, Joyce told the care team that she would love nothing more than to have her hair and nails done before enjoying a traditional Christmas dinner with her fellow Residents at St Peter’s Court.

On Christmas Day, the team surprised Joyce with a special pamper morning, where she chose her favourite colour for her nails and had her hair done how she likes it before being taken to the dining room where a homemade Christmas dinner with all of the festive trimmings was served. For Joyce, who usually eats in her room this was a very special experience and she enjoyed chatting with others and wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas.

Joyce commented: “I've had a fantastic Christmas day and thank you to all the staff for making it all so special.”

Joleen Rayner, Home Manager at St Peter’s Court said: “Christmas evokes so many special memories for our Residents and we strive to make the day as special as possible. St Peter’s Court is their home and the day should be as special as any other Christmas they have celebrated.

“I am so pleased that we were able to make Joyce’s Christmas wish come true and see the smile on her face on Christmas Day.”
