A farewell message for MaureenMaureen was one of five children, she was born and lived in Radcliffe until she married her husband in 1954 and from then on lived in Bury. She left school aged 14 to start work, she was a comptometer operator mainly for accounts until she retired at the age of 60.

In 2004 Maureen moved into Four Seasons Care Home where she maintained independence thanks to her power chair which enabled her to enjoy the landscaped grounds. She enjoyed regular visits and meals out with her close friends and phone or skype calls with distant relatives.

She was a very kind and happy person who touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Sadly Maureen passed away earlier this year. All of the team at Four Seasons got to know Maureen very well over the years and joined Maureen’s loved ones to pay their respects and say a final goodbye to her on Thursday 11th January.

This poem is dedicated to Maureen, who will always be in the minds and hearts of those who knew her.
In Our Hearts
We thought of you with love today
But that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday
And the days before that too
We think of you in silence
We often speak your name
Now all we have is memories
And your picture in a frame
Your memory is our keepsake
With which we’ll never part
God has you in his keeping
We have you in our hearts
