Activities station goes down a treat at Newton Heath care home

Averill House care home in Newton Heath has introduced a new activities station, much to Residents’ and Relatives’ delight. 

The new station is equipped with a number of wellbeing materials, including board games, colouring in sheets and sensory activities, which Residents and Relatives can help themselves to after wellbeing events.

The trolley has been a fantastic success so far, with Wellbeing Coordinator Jodie Yates changing the materials on a weekly basis and incorporating seasonal themes. 

Residents have really loved the new addition to the home, as Vera said: “Oh it’s great!”

Jodie said: “I really wanted to introduce something for our Residents to enjoy in their spare time outside of activities and the new station seemed like the perfect solution! It’s already proved popular amongst Residents, I can’t wait to incorporate more seasonal items as we approach the Christmas period.”
