Arts and crafts take a terrifyingly good twist for Halloween at The Oakes

Residents at The Oakes care home in Huddersfield enjoyed an afternoon of arts and crafts as they prepared for Halloween 2019.

As people decided what spooky creatures they were going to make, others got to work on preparing the paper mache mixture for everyone to use. 

Everyone got to work on sculpting their masterpieces, as some created witches hats, cauldrons, pumpkins, bats and broomsticks. 

Once the paper mache had dried, Residents painted their creations to help bring them to life ready for the home’s Halloween display. 

As many Residents shared memories of Halloween growing up, fellow people living at the home enjoyed a selection of tea, coffee and sweet treats during the craft session. 

One Resident commented: “I always have a laugh at the craft sessions and love joining in. I look forward to making new and different things depending on the time of year.”
