Barleystone Resident meets visitor with a century sized age gapResidents at HC-One’s Barleystone Court in Falkirk got a ‘wee’ surprise today, as one of the Kitchen Assistants brought her daughter, who is only 12 days old, to visit.

Karen, who is a Kitchen Assistant at Barleystone Court, visited the home with her 12-day old baby, Laycie and her big sister, Lola.

Residents loved seeing baby Laycie and one Resident in particular was very taken with her. Bessie, who turns 100 years old in May, was over the moon to meet Laycie and thought she was very beautiful, saying she looked like a “wee doll”.

She loved getting her photo took with her and was amazed at how small she was.

Home Manager, Karen Syme said: “On behalf of everyone at Barleystone I would like to congratulate Karen and her family on the birth of her daughter Laycie.

“It's amazing to think that there is 100 years between Laycie and Bessie, give or take a couple of months.”
