Beeston care home Resident receives kind birthday giftKen Howitt, a Resident at Silverwood care home in Beeston, Nottingham, was delighted to receive a kind gift from the local community for his birthday.

After chatting with a local lady at his local Remembrance Day Service about his efforts throughout World War 2, the lady wished to recognise Ken for his contributions during the war.

The lady visited Silverwood the following day to present Ken with a birthday hamper, on behalf of the local Cooperative team.

Ken was very touched with the gesture and spoke about how much it meant to him to be recognised for his efforts.

Debra Meynell, Home Manager at Silverwood, said: “It was so lovely to see the smile on Ken’s face when he received the gift, it was such a kind gesture from the local community.”
