Bonfire night at The PolegateExcitement was had at HC-One’s The Polegate care home, as Residents and Relatives enjoyed celebrating bonfire night on Tuesday 5th November.

Due to being unable to celebrate with fireworks at the home, Colleagues spoke with Relatives and decided to instead celebrate with a variety of glow sticks and sparklers, much to everyone’s enjoyment.

Residents enjoyed themselves as they were amazed with the light from the sparklers, waving them to create shapes in the dark alongside Colleagues.

To end the night, everyone enjoyed a treat of hot dogs and soup to warm up as they spoke of their favourite thing about bonfire night as a child.

Emma Rich-Spice, home manager, commented: “Everyone has thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Although we could not set off fireworks, the night was filled with laughter and excitement with glow sticks and sparklers.”
