Burns Night celebrations at Glenrothes care homeResidents and team members at HC-One’s Lomond Court care home, on Woodside Way in Glenrothes celebrated Burns Night on Saturday 25th January.

Burns Night is a celebration of the life of the bard Robert Burns which is traditionally hosted on the anniversary of his birthday, 25th January 1759. The day also commemorates Burns' contribution to Scottish culture, including his best known work, Auld Lang Syne.

To celebrate, Residents, team members and visitors came together to create their very own Robert Burn’s style poem named ‘To a Carer’ which included old Scottish phrases and words. There was lots of laughter and conversation from start to finish as people tucked into the delicious shortbread, cheese and oatcakes, with some even opting to have a tipple or two.

Beba Graham, Lomond Court Home Manager said: “I am pleased that everyone enjoyed our Burns Night celebrations, writing the poem brought smiles to people’s faces and made it an evening no one will forget.”
