Coffee, cake and scenic views for Kenton care home Residents

Resident from HC-One’s Kirkwood Court care home in Kenton, Newcastle-upon-Tyne enjoyed a day out on Wednesday 26th February for a slice of cake and a coffee overlooking the River Tyne.

The group got in the minibus and headed for a lovely scenic drive, admiring the views of the quayside on their way to a local coffee shop. Residents asked if they could make a quick detour to admire the wonderful ‘Knife Angel’ which is a 27ft monument crafted out of 100,000 surrendered blades which is currently on display outside of the Sage in Gateshead.

Everyone enjoyed a slice of cake and coffee at a local coffee shop with views of the River Tyne, the Residents chatted about different local places, memories from their childhood and shared their thoughts on the ‘Knife Angel’.
