Colleagues promote mindfulness at Beeston care homeColleagues at Silverwood care home in Beeston, Nottingham were delighted to arrange a coffee morning aimed at promoting wellbeing of Residents living at the home.

The coffee morning invited Emma from Present Mind to the home for a discussion about mindfulness, over a delicious slice of cake and a hot drink.

Emma began the presentation by reading a mindfulness themed poem, before speaking about positive thoughts in a calming way.

Residents were joined by their loved ones for the session, who were keen to ask Emma some questions about mindfulness at the end of the coffee morning.

One Resident commented: “That was really interesting and peaceful, I already can feel an improvement. I really enjoyed it and look forward to similar events in the future.”

Following on from the success of the coffee morning, Colleagues at Silverwood have arranged to run regular mindfulness sessions for Residents and their loved ones to enjoy.
