Durham care home raises money for Children in NeedHC-One’s St Margaret’s care home in Durham hosted a coffee morning in aid of Children in Need on Friday 15th November.

BBC Children in Need hosts a yearly appeal night where people across the UK raise money which is donated to projects for disadvantaged children and young people. Children in Need is currently supporting over 3,000 charities and projects throughout the UK.

Residents and the team at St Margaret’s wanted to show their support by raising some money for the cause, so the home hosted a Children in Need Coffee Morning, with friends, family and the local community, including visitors from Durham University coming along to help the home raise valuable funds.

Children in Need decorations and cakes were displayed throughout the home and some wore yellow in support of the cause. Throughout the day the home raised just under fifty pounds which has been donated the wonderful cause.

St Margaret’s Home Manager, Katherine Swainston said: “Thank you to everyone who attended our coffee morning, it was great to raise some money for Children in Need and come together as a community.”
