Eastrea care home celebrates Australia Day

HC-One’s The Gables care home enjoyed an afternoon of celebration as they marked Australia Day by hosting a fundraising event to raise awareness of the bushfires currently being faced in the country.

Residents spent the afternoon creating hats and colouring Australian themed pictures in, as well as singing songs and practising Australian phrases with one another.

A raffle was held during the event in honour of the animals suffering due to the bushfires, receiving a lot of support from Relatives and members of the local community.

A great day was had by all, with all funds raised going towards the WWF bushfire fund.

One Resident remarked: “We have had a wonderful day, it was great to raise awareness whilst having fun and being creative.”
