Falkirk care home Resident’s wish comes trueDavid, a Resident at HC-One’s Barleystone care home in Falkirk had his wish come true when he was able to watch his great-granddaughter, Hollie dance for the very first time on Saturday 16th November.

David’s great-granddaughter is a highland dancer and David had always wanted to see her dancing but her performances were always too far away to travel or the stage was too far from the audience for David to be able to see her.

The team at Barleystone wanted to make David’s wish to see Hollie dance come true, so they spoke with his granddaughter, Debbie, to see if it would be possible to arrange for Hollie’s dance school, Cullen School of Highland Dancing to visit the home.

On Saturday 16th November, the highland dancers visited and performed for Residents and guests, David was overwhelmed with happiness that his wish to see Hollie dance had finally come true.

Everyone loved the performance, Jean commented that it was one of the most beautiful dances she has ever seen. Barleystone are hoping to welcome Cullen School of Highland Dancing again for another performance.

Karen Syme, Home Manager at Barleystone said: “The smile on David’s face was so heart-warming for everyone at Barleystone, the dancers were amazing and we hope to welcome them all again very soon.”
