Four-legged friend visits Newcastle care homeResidents at HC-One’s Sutherland Court care home in Fenham were delighted to welcome Maltipoo, Darcy, on Tuesday 14th January.

Darcy visits the Residents at Sutherland Court as a therapy dog, she spends time with the Residents in their bedrooms and social areas, everyone loves seeing her and giving her lots of attention during her visits.

One Resident, Rita, said she loves Darcy’s visits as she reminds her of when she had her own dog and she enjoys giving her lots of fuss and cuddles.

Karen Stewart, Home Manager at Sutherland Court said: “Animal therapy can have a significant impact on the physical and emotional wellbeing of people, it’s lovely to see our Resident’s faces light up when they see Darcy.”
