Friends reunited at Hebburn care homeFlorence Atkinson, a Resident at HC-One’s Hawthorn Court care home in Hebburn received an early Christmas present when her childhood friend, Pat Maxwell visited the home to surprise her on Monday 23rd December.

The ladies have been lifelong friends who went to school together and remained close throughout their adult lives. Since Florence moved into Hawthorn Court the pair had not seen each other, so there were tears of joy when Pat came through the doors.

It was a touching moment for everyone as the ladies enjoyed a catch up over a coffee and shared their favourite memories from their younger days, Florence said it was wonderful to see her friend again, especially just before Christmas.

Hawthorn Court Home Manager, Amanda Sleightholme said: “What a heart-warming day, seeing Florence and Pat together again brought a tear to the eye of many of us at Hawthorn Court and we hope that they can spend more time together creating happy memories in 2020.”
