Glasgow care home remembers fallen heroes on Remembrance Day

Residents and team members from HC-One’s Darnley Court care home in Glasgow paid their respects to fallen heroes on Remembrance Day on Sunday 10th November.

Remembrance Day is observed by members of the Commonwealth of Nations to remember members of the military and armed forces who have died in the line of duty. 

Residents from Darnley Court visited a local war memorial where a community commemorative service was held, everyone remembered the Great War heroes who sacrificed their own lives in World Wars. 

During the service, members of the congregation united for two minutes of silence, reflecting on the past, remembering loved ones and thinking of those who are still serving in the armed forces.

Darnley Court Home Manager, Katy Jenks commented: “It was lovely for our Residents to be able to attend the service to remember the selfless sacrifice of our fallen heroes.

“Some of our Residents have lost loved ones during different conflicts so it was a cathartic experience for them to remember and pay their respects.”
