Guisborough care home hosts pawsome coffee afternoon for local charityResidents and team members at HC-One’s Park House care home in Guisborough hosted a coffee afternoon on Friday 21st February to raise money for local charity, Wag and Company.

Wag and Company is a charity which provides professionally assessed volunteers and dogs to older dog lovers looking for some four-legged companionship.

Residents at Park House have enjoyed the services of Wag and Company for many years and were sad when beloved border terrier Daisy, who had been visiting the home for almost four years passed away. Everyone wanted to do something in Daisy’s memory to raise money for Wag and Company, so a coffee afternoon was arranged at Park House and Daisy’s family were invited to come along to the event.

Daisy’s family along with her sister, Poppy, who is now regularly visiting Residents came to the coffee afternoon which included a variety of stalls selling cakes, gifts and hosting a raffle all to raise funds for the charity.

Everyone had a wonderful time at the coffee afternoon, which raised £140 for Wag and Company. The team has also arranged for a Daisy’s family to plant a daisy rose in the home’s garden in memory of their beloved friendship dog which will be planted in the spring.

Park House Home Manager, Julie Woods said: “I am so pleased we were able to support Wag and Company while remembering Daisy, who brought so much happiness and joy to everyone at Park House for so many years.”
