Halloween spook-tacular at Hebburn care home

HC-One’s Hawthorn Court care home in Hebburn hosted a Halloween party for Residents, friends, family, team members and the local community on Thursday 31st October.

Halloween is an annual celebration that originated as an ancient Celtic festival where people would wear costumes to scare off ghosts. Since then, it has evolved into a day of fun festivities, including trick-or-treating and pumpkin carving.

Team members wore fancy dress and decorated the lounge with spooky items as Residents were joined by visitors for an afternoon of live entertainment from local singer, Tony Towers followed by fang-tastic finger food and drinks.

A great time was had by all, one Resident commented: “It was lovely to celebrate Halloween as a community, everyone had such a good time.”

Hawthorn Court Home Manager, Amanda Sleightholme said: “All of our Residents were very excited for the day. Halloween is a popular celebration and many of our Residents excitedly told stories of what they used to do at Halloween when they were younger.”
