Hayes care home Resident creates own cookbook

Marjorie, a Resident at HC-One’s Aston House care home decided to create her own book of recipes as she penned down some of her favourite recipes.

Due to her love of cooking various dishes from different cuisines, Marjorie thought this to be a wonderful way to note them down for others to follow.

The recipe book consists of a variety of recipes, including some unique Arabic and English dishes. Marjorie is now delighted to see her book displayed in the café area of the home.

Fellow Resident, Alice, felt so inspired by Marjorie’s writing efforts, that she then made the decision to begin noting down her life story alongside a photo album of memories, which is currently a work in profress.

Seema Jose, home manager, commented: “Activities like this have such a positive impact on the wellbeing of our Residents, it’s wonderful to make them feel encouraged and appreciated.”
