Henley care home follows journey of cruise around the world

Residents at HC-One’s Thamesfield care home have been following the journey of Lynn, a friend of the home, as she has embarked on a 99-day cruise around the world.

Each day, the home receive updates from Lynn in the form of photographs and a live webcam feed of the Arcadia cruise ship she is travelling on.

Lynn provided the home with an itinerary of her trip, so each day, they are able to follow her journey on a map within the home as they mark where she is each day, which Residents are especially enjoying.

Most recently, Lynn was in Barbados for the day, she sent photographs over to the home for Residents to look at, encouraging reminiscence as they remember the fond memories of the holidays they would go on.

Lina Nela, home manager, commented: “The Residents are really enjoying hearing about Lynn’s adventures each day, we can’t wait to speak to her all about it when she returns back home.”
