Hexham care home Residents welcome furry friendResidents at HC-One’s Acomb Court care home in Hexham enjoy visits from Wagg and Co pet therapy animals twice a week, including golden retriever Cassie and her owner, Audrey.

Wagg and Co is a volunteer operated pet therapy service that supports care homes across the region. Residents at Acomb Court look forward to their visits from the Wagg and Co volunteers and were pleased to hear that Audrey has recently completed a 10K sponsored walk to raise funds for the charity.

One Resident commented that Cassie’s visits the highlight of her week and she loves giving her lots of attention, treats and cuddles.

Catherine McCarron, Home Manager at Acomb Court: “Our visits from therapy pets like Cassie play such an important part in the wellbeing of our Residents, we appreciate all of the amazing volunteers and their four legged friends at Wagg and Co.”
