Kendal care home welcomes local school childrenResidents and team members at HC-One’s Summerhill care home in Kendal were pleased to welcome children from Ghyllside Primary School for their first visit of the year at the start of February.

The children enjoyed weekly visits to the home throughout 2019 and are starting up their weekly visits again for 2020 after a busy festive period.

During each visit the children and Residents of Summerhill work on small projects together, for this visit the children were asked to find out each Resident’s personal likes and dislikes which they used to create a portrait of the Resident.

One Resident commented: “Having the children visit is lovely and seeing all of the pictures they created was great.”

Summerhill Home Manager, Kathleen Dean said: “The visits from Ghyllside pupils are always a popular activity for our Residents, seeing the different generations creating friendships is heart-warming.”
