Knitting proves to be a hit at Bridgend care homeThe introduction of knitting as an activity at Glanffrwd care home in Pencoed, Bridgend has gone down a storm amongst Residents living at the home.

Over the past couple of weeks, a few Residents have taken up their past hobby of knitting, with plans of forming a knitting club in the near future.

After seeing the beautiful creations of the talented knitters at Glanffrwd, other Residents have started learning how to knit, with Myra smiling from ear to ear as she finally mastered the craft.

The introduction of knitting as an activity at Glanffrwd has been a great success, with Residents commenting on how it had enhanced their emotional wellbeing.

Myra commented: “I’ve not felt so happy in such a long time, I’m absolutely determined to do this.”

Alys, a care assistant at Glanffrwd, said: It’s amazing to see Myra so happy, I’ve never seen her so excited.”
