Lostock Gralam care home enjoys illuminationsResidents and Colleagues at HC-One’s Acorn Hollow care home were delighted as they enjoyed a trip to Blackpool to admire the illuminations.

The excitement began as everyone sang together on the bus to the event, before walking to the illumination show.

Before reaching the lights, everyone decided to stop for a fish and chip lunch, which the Residents fully enjoyed so much that one Resident ordered a second fish.

Residents then decided that they wanted to walk towards the pier, so took in the scenery before having a go of the various arcade games and activities.

To end the afternoon, everyone went and purchased souvenirs to bring back with them. Rachel Astles, home manager, commented: “the day was enjoyed by all, some Residents hadn’t seen the lights before, and this visit was significantly special to them. Everyone enjoyed visiting the pier and admiring the surroundings on such a lovely evening.”
