Mossley care home Residents celebrate Valentine’s DayLove was all around at Sandon care home in Mossley, Tameside as Residents were joined by their loved ones to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Colleagues at Sandon decorated the home with beautiful Valentine’s Day props, including setting the tables with red table cloths and a single red rose as a centrepiece.

George and Sheila, who are husband and wife, enjoyed a romantic meal together as Sheila was presented with a red rose and Valentine’s Day card.

Residents were taken on a journey through time as Leafbug, a group running musical interaction sessions in care homes, played a number of love songs through the ages.

The afternoon continued with an exciting baking session, as Residents decorated Valentine’s Day cupcakes, which they enjoyed over a hot drink later in the day.

Dennis, a Resident at Sandon, thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment from Leafbug as he commented: “I used to perform in the shows on stage, so I enjoy singing at every given opportunity.”
