Newton Aycliffe care home Residents board the train to Christmas TownResidents from HC-One’s Defoe Court care home in Newton Aycliffe enjoyed a festive trip to Christmas Town on Wednesday 9th December.

After listening to one Resident reminisce about happy memories of train rides and family holidays, the team decided to arrange a festive train ride to Christmas Town on the Weardale Railway. 

It was all aboard the train to Christmas Town on Wednesday 9th December, Residents enjoyed getting in the festive spirit and seeing the children’s faces light up when Santa visited. Everyone shared their favourite memories of celebrating Christmas with their friends and family over the years and enjoyed some seasonal food and drinks.

Defoe Court Home Manager, Sarah Todd said: “I am so pleased that everyone enjoyed the train to Christmas Town and is feeling the festive spirit, we are all very excited for Christmas at Defoe Court.”
