Preston care home Colleague brightens up Residents day with new lampOne of the nurse assistants at Meadow Bank House care home decided to go the extra mile for one of the Residents, buying her a brand new lamp to make her room feel more homely.

Colleagues at the home had been told about the Sunshine Scale which is a programmed rolled out in the home as a way for staff to help enhance Residents living spaces, especially the private bedrooms, to make the room feel more personal to them.

With this scheme in mind, nurse assistant Kerri-Anne waited no time at all in purchasing an owl lamp for Resident Sheila Hargreves. Sheila’s room is quite large and adding another lamp to one of the corners is perfect for adding another lovely glow for when the evening draws in.

Upon receiving the lamp Sheila commented ‘How did you know I like owls?! It’s beautiful’.
