Ramsey care home Residents enjoy train funA group of Residents at HC-One’s The Red House care home enjoy regularly taking part in activities, so upon discussion, decided to create a ‘gentlemen’s morning’ each week.

The sessions take place each Tuesday, and Residents are able to enjoy taking part in activities which promote reminiscence, including playing around with a train set, setting up the train track and watching as it rode around the track.

Residents enjoy these sessions as it promotes reminiscence for them, recalling the times they would undertake these activities during their childhoods, discussing the trains they had been on and the types they are interested in the most.

Keith Ware, home manager, commented: “The Residents really enjoyed themselves, the smiles on their faces was evidence of this, as they have such a keen interest in trains.”
