Ready, steady, cook! Baking afternoon at Bolton care homeResidents at Meadow Bank House care home in Bolton embraced their inner Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry as they made some delicious Belgian waffles.

Ahead of the baking session, Residents joined together to decide what sweet treat to make, with the winning vote being Belgian waffles.

Meadow Bank House ensured that Residents were involved in each step of the process, with them finding the recipe, mixing together the ingredients and topping the finished waffles with cream and chocolate flakes.

The waffles went down a treat, as Resident Mary said: “I used to work at my brother’s bakery. It feels nice to be baking again.”

Residents already cannot wait for the next baking session, as they have put forward an array of ideas of what to bake next.
