Reminiscence session at The Hornchurch care homeHC-One’s The Hornchurch care home Residents welcomed Bernie, an external entertainer, as he played songs of various genres from different years in the home.

Residents sat and sang along as Bernie played a variety of songs before they guessed the names of each song, as well as the singer.

Everyone treat this as a fun challenge, stimulating Residents’ minds and allowing them to enjoy themselves as they could dance along to the songs and guess their favourite ones, some of which they hadn’t heard in many years.

Afterwards, the Residents enjoyed a warm beverage alongside biscuits and cakes which were thoroughly enjoyed by all.

One Resident enjoyed it so much, as they remarked: “I really enjoyed guessing the singers and title of each of the wonderful songs played, some even reminded me of when I would go dancing with my husband.”
