Residents enjoy baking afternoon at Grimsby care homeBrooklands care home in Grimsby had a sweet treat in store for Residents as they took part in an exciting baking session.

Residents put their aprons and thinking caps on as they decided what to bake, as some chose to make jam tarts, fairy cakes and crispy cakes.

As they got to work on mixing the ingredients together, Residents shared memories of baking in the past, as one person revealed that they won a silver trophy for a baking competition in the 1960s.

Colleagues at Brooklands even joined in with the baking as part of HC-One’s Stop the Clock initiative, where staff members take 15 minutes out of their day at 3pm to join Residents with their activities.

Once the cakes were baked, Residents enjoyed eating them with their loved ones, as one person said: “I had a lovely afternoon, it was messy but fun!”
