Residents enjoy romantic meal for Valentine’s Day at Tameside care homeLove was in the air at The Sycamores care home in Hyde, Tameside as Residents enjoyed a romantic meal for Valentine’s Day.

Colleagues at The Sycamores wanted to treat Resident Eric to a surprise Valentine’s Day meal with his wife, Melinda, who have been married for 55 years.

The couple, who met 63 years ago at a youth hostel, gradually fell in love leading to Eric getting down on one knee in the middle of the street asking Melinda for her hand in marriage.

To celebrate the couple’s long marriage together, Colleagues decorated one of the home’s quiet lounges and served them a romantic meal with a glass of wine to celebrate the occasion.

Eric also treated his wife to a beautiful red rose and Valentine’s Day card, as Melina said: “The day lifted my spirits. It made me feel special, precious and it was just amazing.”

To show her appreciation to Colleagues at The Sycamores for arranging the meal, Melinda presented Wellbeing Coordinator Michelle and Home Administrator Jill to a box of chocolates.
