Rotherham care home celebrates carers’ allergen knowledge

Silverwood care home in Rotherham took part in the great allergen quiz, where both Colleagues and Residents celebrated with care assistant Andy on his triumphant victory!

During February one of the focuses for the staff was to learn all about allergies and intolerances, which is vital when caring for Residents. Staff decided to come up with a fun way to learn all about this topic by creating a quiz.

Andy, one of the carers in the memory community, was the overall winner, even after facing off tough competition during his tie-breaking question round. The Residents all celebrated with Andy to congratulate him on his win.

One of the members of staff at the home commented: ‘Staff engagement and participation is very important with our personal development, it’s always nice to reward a job well done.’
