Scotland’s Leader of the Year is from Glasgow!HC-One’s Greenfield Park Care Home in Carntyne, Glasgow is celebrating after the home’s manager, Robert Murray, was named Leader of the Year at the 2017 Scottish Care Awards for creating a dedicated home for young disabled people in Glasgow.

The Leader of the Year Award recognises care home staff who have ‘demonstrated effective management and leadership in the development of the service and the delivery of quality care’. In winning the award, Robert was recognised for his ‘vision in developing person centred care’ and his ‘commitment and leadership in promoting good practice’.

Robert has worked at Greenfield Park Care Home for 18 years in a number of roles, and after starting his career as a care assistant he succeeded in working his way up to the position of Home Manager. Among his career highlights in that time was creating a dedicated home for young physically disabled people and people with acquired brain injuries, having identified a lack of similar services in Glasgow. Robert took on responsibility for setting up a service at Greenfield Park, and in only eight weeks all of its beds were occupied.

This award is the latest in a strong of positive results for Greenfield Park Staff: last month, the Greenfield Park team was awarded a Kindness in Care Award for the exceptional work they do day in day out in providing the kindest care to Residents.

HC-One Greenfield Park Senior Care Home Manager, Robert Murray, said:

“I am incredibly humbled to have been honoured with such a prestigious award. My motivation every day is simply to do my absolute best for Residents at Greenfield Park, and seeing people smile is reward enough in itself.

I could not have won this award without the amazing support of the Greenfield Park team, whose hard work and passion helps us all achieve the very highest standards of care and support.”

HC-One Managing Director, Elizabeth Roscoe, said:

“I would like to congratulate Robert on his fantastic success, which a testament to the amazing work he has done at Greenfield Park over the past 18 years. At HC-One we pride ourselves on being the care provider of choice for Residents and colleagues, and Greenfield Park is a shining example of this philosophy.”
