Scunthorpe care home raises £250 for Children in Need with sponsored wheelchair push

Residents and Colleagues at HC-One’s Bridgewater Park care home in Scunthorpe were delighted to raise £250 after completing a sponsored wheelchair push across the Humber Bridge. 

Each member of the Bridgewater Park team wore an item of yellow clothing, ranging from Pudsey Bear T-shirts to yellow hats, as they took part in the fundraiser. 

The team embarked on the 2.22km journey to the end of the suspension bridge, before making their way back to the start point and covering a total distance of 4.44km.

Sponsored by family, friends and members of the local community, staff and Residents were overjoyed to have raised £250 for the charity, which aims to change the lives of children and young people across the UK.

Julie Moult, Home Manager at Bridgewater Park, said: “At HC-One, we are passionate about getting our Residents involved in supporting charities across the UK and the wheelchair push for Children in Need was the perfect way to do this. 

“Everyone had great fun taking part in the fundraising and we are so grateful to each person who got involved with the wheelchair push and sponsored us to raise such a fantastic fundraising amount.”
