St David’s Day celebrations at Merthyr Tydfil care home
Celebrations were in full swing at The Daffodils care home in Merthyr Tydfil as Residents enjoyed preparing for St David’s Day.

As a mark of the feast day of Saint David, the patron saint of Wales, St David’s Day is celebrated with parades across the country on the 1st March each year.

In preparation of the big day, Residents from The Daffodils enjoyed showing off their inner artists as they took part in a Welsh-themed arts and crafts session.

Residents coloured in a variety of Welsh pictures, including those of the Welsh flag, dragons and daffodils.

Rosemary, a Resident at The Daffodils, said: “We always have a good time doing various activities at The Daffodils. We always have a good laugh and good music playing in the background, especially Tom Jones.”

The Tom Jones hits certainly go down a treat at The Daffodils, especially for Rosemary who was best friends with the famous Welsh singer at primary school.

Fellow Resident Audrey added: “We are very patriotic and proud to be Welsh.”
