Whittlesey care home Residents enjoy Christmas shopping trip

Residents at HC-One’s The Elms care home were delighted as they got into the Christmas spirit to visit a local town, Spalding, for a shopping trip.

During the bus journey to Spalding, the Residents enjoyed a Christmas sing along as they shared their favourite family Christmas memories with one another.

Once at the shopping centre, everyone chose their favourite shops to go into as they took part in some Christmas shopping for various decorations and ornaments, as well as gifts for family members.

Half way through the shopping trip, everyone decided to go to a local restaurant to enjoy lunch together before going back to spending time in the shops.

Before the return to the minibus, once everybody was all shopped out, they retreated to a local coffee shop where they spoke about their exciting day, with the Residents describing their favourite part of the day.

Katie Coulson, home manager, commented: “Everyone has enjoyed themselves today, the Residents love going shopping and it really got them into the Christmas spirit.”
